Originally from the UK, I got involved in public procurement around 25 years ago when I began preparing technical specifications for higher education facilities in developing countries. After gaining a good deal of international experience I decided to supplement my BSc in electronics with an MSc in International Development. I have since managed procurement in many sectors including education, rural development and, more recently, transportation.
I undertook this course by way of a refresher since I had not been involved in World Bank funded programs for some time. However, I found that most of the material is also very pertinent to procurement financed by other development agencies. I would recommend this course both to those starting out in procurement and also to experienced practitioners.
